Did World Cup Cricket organizers miss a trick with how they allocated tickets?

Every time I see games the stands are half empty. Why didn’t they see the lack of tourists sales as an opportunity to give tickets to local fans/children/etc at a very low local or no price. It would have made a fabulous atmosphere and encourage people to go in future. Why the hell leave seats empty with local kids climbing hills and trees to get a look in from afar?

Ridiculous, cricket’s commercial director should be fired. Get someone who knows what they are doing with developing a game.
