What do i need to say in an application for an events organiser?

I am replying to an ad in the paper to a vacancy titled ‘events organiser/administrator’ and although I have contacted the company they havent told me what qualities i need or what they are looking for. I have no experience in this area, and they sai that it does not matter. But I need to write a written application and do not know what to say. Does any one know what they look for?? I checked into napo, but dont have even CLOSe to 1500 hours (in 3 years) to be certified. Can i professionally organize..or call myself a professional organizer without certification?
