What is the base salary for a union organizer?

I am currently working for a labor union. (Yes the labor union itself and not a job with a union). I was recently referred by a national employee of my organization to pursue this field with his referral. I am reluctant to ask him how much the field pays. Push come to shove, however, I will ask him. I have looked all over the net to find this info, no luck yet
Any one have any clues?
