I have two teen girls..they go through a neat stage, then they claim their territory and rebel with messy rooms. I compromise and allow their rooms to be as they wish all week and have them clean their rooms and bathroom on the weekend. This works well for us..it was hard for me at first, (turning a blind eye), but am ok with it now...except...I have a rule that when friends come over, the room/bathroom must be tidied somewhat before. This keeps the rooms cleaner throughout the week. As for the little one..I used to clean and tidy in the afternoon before supper with my girls helping (they liked it then) daily to get them in the routine. Any toys after supper had to be put away before reading to them at bedtime..we did this together too. pissy_old_lady

Liberals with lots of money and labor unions with lots of donations, they also figured that after bush a well spoken, supposebly anti war Hope and change guy would sweep right in and become popular. they were right and we are going to pay for voting in a guy with no experience or will to do what is right. Obama is a government guy and no matter how bad the economy is he will not let this one cahance go by without trying to make America more government run. obitrice

He ran for state office in IL, and then ran for the US Senate. Obama was a community organizer for about 2 years after he finished his bachelor's degree. He was a Constitutional Law professor and a Civil Rights lawyer after he finished law school. It's convenient how The GOP forget those jobs. slykitty62

We are going to witness a historical election. We could witness every single Democrat voted out off office and replaced with Republicans. It's going to be 1994 times 10!!! mustagme

Shalom. Regardless of the framework, it helps most if the group leader is great. While it's hard to determine in advance the particular group dynamics, you can find out the reputation and experience of a specific tour leader.

When my family hosted Mayanot participants for a meal in Jerusalem, I asked the students their honest opinions. (They chose to visit Israel with a leader whose lifestyle is far more religious than that of his students.) Aside from carping about the food that they were sometimes given (while raving about our Shabbat lunch), they were all very pleased with their tour experience and appreciated coming here with an experienced leader whom they enjoyed and respected. Based on this, a few of them expressed a desire to stay on in Israel.
Perhaps it's worth checking out Facebook (or similar ) pages of different groups in which you are most interested. You'll be able to communicate with a greater range of Birthright participants at such sites.

I also noticed details about the Jewish Agency's Israel Experience trip that may interest you. Tequila
